How to get to Barili
Barili can be reached by public buses or V-Hire (heading to Moalboal or further south) from the Cebu South Terminal in Cebu City with an estimated travel time of about 1 1/2 hours.
Barili is a third class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 65,524 people. Barili is located 61 kilometres (38 mi) southwest of Cebu City. It is bounded on the south by the municipality of Dumanjug; on the north by the municipality of Aloguinsan; on the east by the municipalities of Carcar and Sibonga; and on the west by the Tanon Street. It is home to its main tourist attraction, the Mantayupan Falls.
History
The word Barili comes from the name of a local grass called balili. The municipality was founded in 1632, though the parish of Barili was established in 1614. A cross was planted by Spaniards led by Captain Juan Juarado at their arrival at 1502, and still exists today.

Barili only has a branch of the Shamrock Pension house (tel 63 32 470-9235, 255-2900) located above the Shamrock bake house, the place in which buses going to and from Moalboal take a pit stop.
Places to Explore:
Mantayupan Falls
It is the main natural attraction in Barili. It is also one of Cebu's tallest waterfalls. Mantayupan Falls, also known by the locals as Ambakan Falls, has two levels. The first level are three waterfalls with the height of 14 meters. The second level is a waterfall which is 98 meters high.

Tilapia Fishing Village and Restaurant
This is near Mantayupan Falls. One can relax here, and order a tilapia cooked in your own preference for lunch.
Sayaw Beach + Rock Formations and Caves
This is one of Barili's famous beaches. White-sand, pristine, clean, and with a great view of Negros Oriental, Sayaw Beach is ideal for swimming and beach bumming. One can also go boating to see the rock formations and caves near the beach.

Travel Tips:
1. Take the early morning bus from Cebu City's South Bus Terminal to avoid traffic. You can choose between aircon and ordinary buses.
2. Tell the driver's aide (konduktor) to drop you at Shamrock Terminal, you can hire a habal-habal for Mantayupan Falls there or you can walk towards the market area.
3. Buses and jeepneys are plying the Barili to Cebu City route until around 6 or 7 pm.
